Yes, Copywriting Is Still A Thing Here

As we anticipate spring here in New England, we’ve been living through what I call “sprinter” — a mix of spring and winter where cold winds and rain follow a few sunny days.

It feels like spring is never really going to get here.

That anticipation is a lot like what some of my clients feel with their marketing.

“When will the clients come?” they ask.

“I’m doing all the things. I’ve written my website copy. I created a welcome email series. But somehow, prospects aren’t converting to clients.”

The path to good intentions is often paved with too many calls to action.

Case in point: One of my clients asked readers to schedule a time to come into their retail establishment; first, by choosing a time on a calendar, THEN emailing the client to get on the calendar.

As my friend Liz August says, “If COVID taught us anything, folks want a one-and-done solution.”

One click, one action, all in one spot.

I shared this nugget of wisdom with the client, and lo and behold; they found a better way to schedule appointments.

Sometimes it’s the copy, but sometimes it’s a systems issue. But it’s interesting how the systems issue gets revealed through the writing.

I know I’ve been talking a lot about books and writing coaching lately, but copywriting is still happening here in Judi 411 Land.
