Every family has a story.
Judi Harrington simply has more stories than the average person.

What do Red Sox Nation, animal husbandry, and breastfeeding in Faneuil Hall have in common?

They’re all topics in Judi Harrington’s debut memoir, “Fuckery: The Life and Times of a Legend (In Her Own Mind).

Described as a “one-woman comedy hour who could make a story out of going to the mailbox,” Harrington’s debut memoir celebrates family in all forms — the family you’re born with and the family you choose.

In the spirit of David Sedaris, Carrie Fisher, and Sloane Crosley, Harrington finds the humor that’s embedded in every moment of life--even the most painful ones.

From the Catholic daughter who desperately wants a Jewish menorah for Christmas to the author’s reckoning with her family’s lineage of addiction and alcoholism, Harrington brings the reader on a moving, rollicking journey that leaves you laughing and crying and probably both at once.

  • "An inspiring memoir that makes you want to write your own stories.”

About The Author

Judi Harrington is a writer based in Boston who’s been putting the “fun” in “dysfunctional” for most of her life.

She spent many years cataloging her life’s stories under cover of darkness while working in financial services by day and defending the use of The Oxford Comma on social media.

Eventually, she decided to come out of the closet (so to speak) and publish her stories. After all, as Judi says, “No good ever came out of staying in the closet.”

Some of Judi’s friends are delighted by this turn of events, while others remain unconvinced that it’s a good idea.

Judi is grateful to the former while convinced that the latter are jealous that they aren’t included in the book.

Jamaican Patois term was first introduced to American mainstream/pop culture in a scene from the movie  “Shottas," which can be heard during the deportation interrogation scene.
