The Writing Secrets No One Tells You (Except Me)
I’m going to let you in on a little writing secret.
Well, it’s more of a myth-buster.
Writers are not these special creatures who sprout forth from the earth, float over to the keyboard, and start pouring out perfect prose on the first shot.
You know who writers are?
People who work their writing muscles every single day.
Yep. We might make it look easy, but you know what you get when you see our words? The end-product of drafting and editing.
Yes, it’s a process for us too.
Doesn’t that make you feel a little better? I hope so.
Now, why in the world am I telling you this?
Because I believe that all of us have a story to share, but let the comparison game get in the way of telling it.
We think, “Oh, I can’t possibly tell a story as good as [insert anyone’s name here]! So I’m going to just forget about it.”
I don’t want you to forget about it. I want to hear it and help you make it a reality through writing coaching.
Last fall, I worked with a business owner who had an idea for a book related to her business, and within just a few weeks, she made enormous strides in her writing, including:
Clarity: without giving away too many details, she came to me with many ideas, and we’ve identified which one will get her the most results for her business.
Confidence: she’s gone from thinking, “I’m not a writer,” to getting excited about her topic and writing more than she ever imagined.
We’ve moved from ideas to outlines to developing content in less than a month.
And do you know what she discovered? Her idea wasn’t so much a book as a program she can offer to a whole new market of clients.
I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again:
“The writing reveals what will happen next, but the only way to start is to begin.”
If you’re a business owner who wants to develop ideas related to your business — in the form of a book OR a program — let’s talk!
I have room for one more private writing coaching client, and I’d love for you to be that person.
