Two Recipes for a Joyful Spread

Thanksgiving is right around the corner here in the States, so we are all gearing up and preparing our favorite holiday recipes. Me? My World Famous Cranberry Sauce is simmering on the stove, and the house smells delightful.

I’d be glad to share my recipe if you reach out and ask, but today, I want to focus on sharing a few verbal recipes of kindness to help you navigate the season.

When you’re chatting with someone on the phone (I know this feels like an ancient practice, and I’m not a fan of it either but bear with me), start with a warm greeting like, “It’s so good to hear your voice,” before diving into your request.

Also, when you’re out shopping this season (I know, who even does that anymore? I’m always amazed by how many people venture out to buy things), tell the cashier, “It was good to see you” at the checkout.

There’s nothing quite like the feeling of being heard and seen, and during this season of gratitude and kindness, why not spread a little joy?

That’s it—no other calls to action. I simply hope your Thanksgiving is filled with food, family, and fun, and very little fuckery.
