My (Un)Official Claim to Fame
There’s an old saying that “truth is stranger than fiction,” and some days, I feel like I’m living proof.
Strap yourself in, friend, because this one is a doozie, but in the most delightful way.
In my book, Fuckery: The Life and Times of A Legend (In Her Own Mind), I share a chapter titled “The World’s Most Approachable Woman,” where I talk about my childhood obsession with the Guinness Book of World Records. As a kid, this book was my bedtime lullaby. I was captivated by the incredible feats and fascinating records. Yet, I never imagined that one day, I might be recognized for something similar. And yet, life has a way of surprising us in the most creative ways.
A few weeks ago, I was attending a graduation party for the grandson of Jane Braddock, a proud Judi 411 Superfan. In the middle of the celebration, Jane paused the festivities to make a special announcement. She pulled out the 2024 edition of the Guinness Book of World Records and, to my complete astonishment, revealed that I was featured as the "World’s Most Approachable Woman," complete with my picture and a full write-up!
Yes, dear reader, Jane created that placard from my business card, which I insert as a bookmark for all direct purchases of my book.
Needless to say, I was floored, delighted, and amused all at once. Somehow, Jane had crafted this hilarious and heartfelt moment. It was as if my childhood dream had come to life, unofficially but in the most delightful way.
This moment was a perfect reminder that the truth really can be stranger than fiction—and often, much more wonderful.

P.S. Apologies to Chris Cecil, Jane’s grandson, for temporarily stealing the spotlight at YOUR event! I love you, buddy, and I see great things ahead for you in this world! Who knows? Maybe you’ll actually make it into the Guinness Book of World Records!
