Turkey, Magnets, and Santa
Well, I survived Halloween and all the spooky shenanigans! Now it’s time to countdown to Thanksgiving, my favorite holiday because I LOVE FOOD.
But before we dive into turkey talk, let’s talk turkey about a marketing truth that needs to be addressed.
I will leave names out of this to protect the innocent, but if you think I’m talking about you, chances are I probably am! Feel free to hit reply to confirm.
Moving right along…
Someone who shall remain nameless recently confided in me that another person told her they didn’t like some of her content, claiming it was too edgy and that she should tone it down.
I’ll skip my rant about how this kind of criticism is disproportionately aimed at women who confidently own their space —often with a disruptive message— and get right to the point.
I responded with, “Congratulations! Your marketing is working!”
Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus—and news like this is a jolly big fat Merry Christmas!
Let me explain.
Good marketing attracts and repels.
Now, excuse me, as I go into hiding until November 1st.
Like a well-crafted magnet, good marketing pulls in the right crowd while shooing away the folks who don’t belong. By being clear about your message, you attract those who vibe with your brand and keep the others at bay—no more awkward first dates (aka Discovery Calls going south)! It’s all about building a loyal fanbase that gets you while letting the rest know they might want to look elsewhere.
Let’s chat if you’re curious whether your message is doing its job! Book an hour of my time, and we’ll dive into your marketing strategy together. Whether you need help refining your message or figuring out how to attract your ideal audience, I'm here to help you shine in the right corner!
