Discover the Secret Sauce

In case you missed my full-page ad in the Wall Street Journal, I celebrated my birthday this month by attending a long-awaited concert by The Beatles Tribute Band, Rain.

As a lifelong fan of The Fab Four, I've been dying to see Rain for years but always missed out due to conflicting schedules. This time, I snagged three tickets back in December so I could finally go with my daughter, Bennie, and my best friend, Johanna.

I went all out on these tickets. We scored seats eight rows from the stage, and I even prepaid for parking.

Now, I'm not saying this to boast but to highlight a philosophy I'm embracing:

Do it once and do it right.

As someone who treasures experiences more than possessions, I aimed for us all to make a lasting memory. And that we did. We sang, we danced, and we were completely mesmerized for more than two hours and of course, we all went bananas when they sang “Hey Jude.”

I will likely never see this band again because our experience was exceptional. Nothing will ever live up to it in my mind.

Life is short. Get the good seats.

Now, let's dive into this week's writing topic, building upon this month's theme of Testimonials.

We all know I love a food metaphor, and today is no exception: Testimonials are the special seasoning that adds flavor to your brand. Well-crafted testimonials provide the social proof needed to support the transformative promises you're making to your audience.

I’m not talking about bland things like “[YOUR COMPANY NAME] is great! I highly recommend it!” That barely qualifies as an endorsement and doesn’t really say much.

Genuine testimonials showcase the journey clients embark on with you and the remarkable transformations they undergo.

When people see themselves in the journey, they want to take the same action as the person in the testimonial, as in: work with you.

I’ve talked a lot this month about using testimonials in website copy, but I also offer them as a standalone service. And guess what? Clients love them because they’ve helped bring them more of the type of client they want to work with.

Here’s what happy Testimonial Scribe clients have to say:

We've reused the testimonials Judi created for our virtual and live event production company across all our marketing materials, and they've been the cornerstone in persuading clients to choose us for their projects.

Julie Migliacci, Hybrid Event Consultant and Co-Founder, Revent Consulting

In the bustling world of mortgages, setting yourself apart can be a tough nut to crack. But with Judi's stellar interviewing and writing prowess, I've unearthed my unique selling points and honed my business to draw in the exact clients I want to serve.

Debbie Siegel, Mortgage Broker and Founder, Westchester Mortgage

To borrow another foodie metaphor, “The proof is in the pudding.” Check out the testimonial magic for yourself by browsing through the sample testimonials in my online portfolio

Spoiler alert: not only will you find testimonials on my site, but you'll also see how they're making waves elsewhere!
