Yoga + Consistency

Greetings from the end of this big, long Monday known as January!

In my last missive, I mentioned "consistency" as my word of the year and promised to delve into it later.

As you can probably guess, this email is the "later" I was talking about.

Probably the most obvious way I’m embracing consistency is in my weekly missives to all y’all – sharing what I’m working on and how I can help you get your messages out in the world.

I've also developed a consistent habit of journaling every morning before kicking off my day. It's proven to be a valuable practice, helping me clear my mind and concentrate on my top three priorities for the day (another consistent practice: focus on three items per day).

Most significantly, I've resumed my yoga practice after a long hiatus. Finding the right place for in-person sessions proved to be a challenge, after my favorite studio, Borealis, closed its doors during the pandemic.

In many aspects, getting back into yoga feels like riding a bike – the asanas and breath connection come back easily. However, it's also been challenging because I've had to take it slow.

Yet, I keep showing up, and remind myself that yoga is a practice, not an achievement.

So, here's to consistency – both as a word of the year and a practice.

Buckle up, folks, because I’m just getting started!

P.S. Maybe, like the way I fell off the yoga practice wagon, you've experienced a tumble from your writing practice routine. No worries – we've all been there! As I tell my writing coaching students, “The only way to start is to begin.”

Whether you're a seasoned wordsmith or just starting your literary journey, I'm here to guide you in cultivating a writing practice that sticks.

If you're ready to dust off the pen and paper (or keyboard), reach out to me!

Let's chat, exchange ideas, and revive that writing spark. Your words are waiting to flow – let's make it happen!
